New at the Hardware Show
The 2010 National Hardware Show was held May 4-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nev. Post-show news reports attendance was up 20 percent over last year’s numbers, a positive sign for the home improvement industry says Ed Several, group vice president & show manager, National Hardware Show. The Show is organized into seven major product focus areas: Hardware & Tools; Homewares; Lawn, Garden & Outdoor Living; Paint & Accessories; Plumbing & Electrical; Storage & Organization and an international sourcing area. New features this year included a Tailgate Product Merchandising Pavilion and an “As Seen on TV” area. The National Hardware Show 2011 will be held May 10-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Contour Scraper
The new Contour Scraper from Hyde Tools comes with six stainless-steel blades that offer a different scraper profile on each end of the blade — a total of 12 shapes and sizes. Applications include wood moldings, stair rails or treads, chair rails, wainscoting and more. Features include an ergonomic handle, quick-release lever for easy blade change and blades that can be re-sharpened.

LightTools
StreamWorks Products Group introduced its line of LightTools, which feature Hub-Light, an LED light incorporated into the jaws of the pliers so light is always on the work area. The Hub-Light utilizes three replaceable watch batteries with a five-hour life and is completely sealed and waterproof, oil-proof and chemical proof.

Gorilla Tape Tough and Wide Roll
The Gorilla Glue Company now offers its Gorilla Tape in a Tough and Wide roll, nearly 3-in. wide and 30 yds. long. Gorilla Tape is all purpose and adheres to brick, stucco, concrete, rough lumber and more. It features double-thick adhesive, strong reinforced backing and an all-weather shell. Gorilla Tape is also available in 12- and 35-yd. rolls and a 1-in.-wide roll.

H3 Rotary
Hammer Drill
Rockwell’s H3 Rotary Hammer Drill can be used as a rotary hammer drill, conventional three-jaw drill or power screwdriver. A dial switch on the body of the tool allows the operator to switch between hammer to drilling modes. The 3-lb. tool is powered by a 12-volt lithium ion battery and features an SDS Plus 3-in-1 quick change chuck system. It delivers an impact rate of 0-4,800 bpm in hammer mode and the drilling capacity is 3⁄8 in. in wood and concrete and 5⁄16 in. in steel.

Video Inspection Systems
General Tools & Instruments has introduced five new models to its lineup of video inspection systems. Part still camera, part video camera and part borescope, these instruments enable contractors, plumbers and HVAC technicians the ability to view areas otherwise inaccessible. The introductions include three models in the affordable Seeker line, the High Performance Data Logging Video Borescope System and the Wireless Data Logging Video Borescope.

Little Giant Ladder Systems unveiled its multiposition Select Step Adaptive Stepladder. The stepladder weighs 24 lbs. yet carries type IA 300-lb. OSHA and ANSI rating. It’s a 5-, 6-, 7- and 8-ft. stepladder that telescopes on each side for use on stairs and sloping ground. It has a built-in Comfort Platform instead of ordinary spreader bars and its AirDeck Safety System provides security at the top of the ladder with features such as slots for paint cans, tools and extension cords and a magnetic dish.
