Warn takes on jobsite challenges

Well-known for its vehicle winches, Warn Works has added a series of jobsite winches and a winch rigging kit to its lineup. The kit includes a snatch block rated to 7,000 pounds to assist with angle pulls. It also has appropriate shackles and fasteners. The lineup also includes both AC- and DC-powered winches with power enough to move a large pallet, as well as a 1,000-pound rated hoist. These helpers are designed to assist in moving materials and supplies and loading or unloading vehicles.

Vermont American self-feeding bits

Getting a better finish in less time, with less effort was one of the goals behind development of a new line of self-feeding spade bits. They feature an efficient screwpoint that helps the bit get started and move through a variety of materials — pulling rather than needing the push of traditional spade bits. The result is a smoother hole for running wire, bolts or whatever. These black oxide-coated bits resist rust, reduce heat and are available in 4-inch stubby bits, 6-inch standards and 16-inch extended length versions.

Bostitch demonstrates nails and nailers

Long known for its nailers and related equipment, Bostitch made a point to demonstrate the security offered by its fastener line, especially a new HurriQuake sheathing nail — as it's name suggests, it's designed to withstand the enormous stresses of natural disasters. One of the latest in the nail gun line, the N75C-1 sheath nailer — light an versatile enough for more than sheathing jobs — drew spotlight attention.

Ridgid takes a different angle
It doesn't look like your common drill, and it isn't. Ridgid's 1/2-inch right angle drill is engineered for tough duty in tough spots. Its 8-amp motor and three-speed gearbox — 300, 600 and 1,200 rpm — give this tool extra torque while the head design allows it to fit between studs and joists. Long cord package allows for plenty of reach, too. An automatic safety clutch is in place to reduce the risk of kickback.

Carlisle develop roof base

The EZ-Roof base is designed to be an alternative to more traditional roof underlayments, especially on steep slopes. It's a strong waterproofing option for protecting both the roof deck and interior space. A roll 5 feet wide covers 200 feet. A synthetic formula makes it resist cracking and rotting while offering high wind resistance.
