Metabo Features New Angle Grinder with Electronic Speed Stabilization
Metabo Corporation has introduced the new WE9-125 Quick 5-inch angle grinder built with the company's vario constamatic (VC) electronic speed stabilization. This makes the grinder ideal for heavy operating conditions such as grinding, cutting and finishing granite, marble or concrete as well as grinding and finishing metals.
VC electronics constantly monitor the current in the motor adding voltage as load increases, keeping the tool running at optimum speed. A soft start feature extends longevity of both the motor windings and gears. The WE9-125 Quick grinder also incorporates Metabo's 'CoolFlow' technology with repositioned carbon brushes for unrestricted airflow and a fan that pulls 35% more air through the tool to keep it running cooler during operation significantly extending tool life. In addition, the grinder features an aluminum die-cast housing to help with heat dissipation and provide increased durability.
Safety features include a tool-less guard adjustment, spindle lock and an "S-Automatic" safety slip clutch to protect the operator from kickback by absorbing the torque created if the wheel would bind or snag. A power interruption protection feature prevents restart in the event that power is lost to the tool and the switch remains in the on position, protecting the operator from injury or work surfaces from damage when power is restored.
CGW Unveils Z-THRU Flap Discs
The CGW-Camel Grinding Wheels flap discs have laser cut flaps precisely layered to create a transparent grinding zone, enabling users to view the work piece while grinding.
Z-THRU flap discs are made from zirconia alumina grain, a high-grade cooling agent, and a heat-treated poly/cotton backing material for long lasting, smooth grinding action. These flap discs are ideal for blending, finishing and rust removal and can be used on carbon and stainless steels.
The new flap discs are available in 4-1/2-inch and 5-inch diameters, 40-, 60-, and 80-grit sizes and 7/8-inch or 5/8-11 arbor holes.
Z-THRU flap discs are demonstrated on CGW's USA site, www.cgwheels.com.
