Louisville, KY - Bailey Tools & Supply, Inc. of Louisville, KY has purchased the assets of Indianapolis distributor Capitol Drilling & Contractors Supply, 5430 Rock Hampton Court, Indianapolis, IN.
With the October 1, 2009 transaction, Bailey Tools & Supply, Inc., which sells professional-grade power tools, construction equipment, construction supplies, safety products, tool repair service and rental items, now has sales locations in Louisville, KY; Evansville, IN and Indianapolis, IN.
Seventy-two years ago Harry M. Bailey started Bailey Machine Co. in his Louisville garage after his employer was shutdown from the flood of 1937. The company was primarily a machine shop until 1941 when Harry began selling power tools.
In 1964 Robert L. Bailey (Bob), Harry's son, became president and second-generation family owner and continued to build the business until his retirement in 1992.
Now, the third generation - Robert L. Bailey, Jr., president, and Steven H. Bailey, vice president - is expanding further. Robert Bailey, Jr., said, "This purchase complements our current lines of construction-related equipment and adds top-quality brands such as STIHL and Honda Power Equipment.
