October 5, 2011, Leominster, MA- PFERD INC., The U.S. subsidiary of August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. of Marienheide, Germany, a 212 year old world leader in the design and manufacture of quality abrasive products, cutting tools, brushes and power tools, today announced the appointment of Mark Noe as Director of Sales. In this newly created position, Noe will report directly to PFERD President, Gene Huegin, and have responsibility for all U.S. sales operations which includes directing the PFERD Area Sales Managers reporting to him in addition to market specialists.
Noe, a native of the St. Louis, Missouri area, is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He comes to PFERD with a broad background in the tool industry. His most recent position was Director of Sales for the Apex Products Division of the Apex Tool Group which is the recently formed joint venture of the Cooper Tools Division of Cooper Industries and Danaher Corporation's tool division. His previous experience also includes work at Hilti Fastening Systems, Ingersoll-Rand Corporations's industrial division, R&B, Inc, and Larson-Juhl, a Berkshire-Hathaway Company. He won The Circle of Excellence Award twice for exceeding sales goals at R&B. and was named Western Region Sales Representative of The Year while at Larson-Juhl.
In making the announcement, PFERD President, Gene Huegin, stated, "PFERD has experienced extensive growth in recent years in North America and it was clear that a stronger level of support was required to each of the sales departments and entities reporting to me. Our owners, therefore, agreed to establish the Director of Sales position and allow me more time to concentrate on strategic issues", Huegin said. "I am very pleased that we were able to find someone with such a proven performance record and ability to provide the direct sales management leadership for our company. I feel certain Mark can step into this role and achieve even greater sales growth for PFERD", Huegin concluded.
In accepting the appointment, Noe commented on his new assignment. "I know PFERD has a long history of success in the metalworking industry and I realize I face many challenges in helping to guide their continued success. With my past experience and with the strong team PFERD has in place, I'm sure we will work well together in reaching our future sales growth goals".
Mark and his wife, Lynn, and their daughter, Emma, will relocate to Massachusetts where PFERD operations in North America are headquartered. Mark is an avid sports fan, enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter, and restoring automobiles.
